Merry Christmas & a Great 2006 to all!!!

right after i finished my blog on Sunday ...
I got a sore throat

I was singing to a song I was playing
on my PC when my throat
fails farny ... tt was the beginning
of my illness ... expect it
to last 2 weeks ... tdy it is
Day 11

Chocoloates, dead fried food,
Chocolates, dead fried food ....
r a bad combination ....
I have been eating it
for the the past week ...
the end result is
SORED throat

donno y I have a

bittersweet love for the 2 items
... I used to get painful cysts &
pimples when I ate
too much chocolates ...
but chocolates r one
of the most delightful, delicious
things u can find
on Planet Earth

can't help but luving it ... I

juz hope I can recover
by Christmas ... though it
has ruined my third week of December

Monday ... I was the
lone one at the airport to
receive pal, Kwunho who
returns from UK ...

I wasn't in gud shape but we
juz chat for a while before
I rush for
my tuition ...

the aircon at my student's hse
juz killed me though
it wasn't really cold ...
I had to take the cab home
after tt n was freezing
on the cab ...

on Wed I was @ the airport
to send Tze Chien off
to US ... ever since
MH left for UK, I have
seemed my frenzs leaving
for overseas ...

some enjoy their freedom...
some wish they will be back
asap ... my personal
experience is that
living overseas
is an
adventure ... sometime
one longs for home ...
longs for the noise
of one hse

if I have the $$$, I might
visit TC perhaps with
my JC frenzs ... but guess
the immediate task
is to earn n save $$$

@ nite ... I went karaoke
with Kwunho & pals
even with a sore
throat ... my
voice was quite terrible
... sadly, I guessed
tt was my last karaoke for
2005 ... my pathetic
voice hasn't recover
as of tdy

Thursday was Christmas
Shopping Day ... Zhuzhen
is my best pal when it's
come to shopping for
gift ... I've nvr
seen anyone
as efficient as her
... we tink
in the same frequency
sometimes ... tt helps I
suppose

I spent less than I expected
... so far my acquired stuff includes:
(1) 2 Christmas gift for my tuition kid
(2) Audrey's bdae pressie
(3) Christmas gift exchange pressie
(4) Sennheiser earphones

Sennheiser earphones ROCK ... Conclusion:
(1) Panasonic earphones suck
(2) Phillip earphones has the longer live
(3) Sennheiser earphones deliever more
BUZZ, more POWER than the
previous two ... but it's nt gg
to last ... I will ENJOY it
as long as it lasts

anyway I'm tkful to both Zhuzhen
& Keith for shopping
with me
when I don have a
clear "target"

I luv shopping but
not the "window" process
but the actual acquisition process

met Benghwee, Kiansiong & Eric
for dinner @ the Thai
Delights shop @ Sembawang
Shopping centre ... the standard
seems to have drop ...
but I enjoy the company

we don't meet v often ever
since we graduate ... but
I still maintain respect
for Kiansiong ... I respect
people who r v
loyal to their frenzs

Aunt has a minor facial operation
@ TTSH on Friday ... so
I accompanies her to the doc
... I realises tt the nurses
there r realli gud to
the patient

I waited for aunt at the lobby ... n
actualli dose off ... when the
fone rang I rushed to
visit my aunt ... I realise
tt I was rather apprehensive
abt seeing the stitches

but glad tings went
smoothly

Saturday I had two tuitions before
Audrey's evening bdae party ...
somehow this year class
makes me feel quite
excited ... I think they
can realli improve

when I first started teaching
in 1999, I thought
experience is nt as impt ...
but guess I have improved
a lot ...

I ended up being one of the
few pple who wore a full
pink shirt for Audrey's 21 bdae
party ...

I have no qualms abt
wearing pink ... even my
website is pink in colour ...
PINK is a warm n
relaxing colour

Prof Urs wasn't there ... but
my lab colleagues were
there ... a couple of pple
asked me abt my job
... so I have to repeat
the long story again

it's nice to attend
21th bdae party though ...
makes me feel
a bit younger

by Sunday ... my cough
started ... I cough
like someone
w tuberculosis ... the cough has
lasted for for more than 1
week

I saw the doctor a second
time for the cough ...
both the doctor & pharmacist

prescribed me
dextrametrophan (it's
a black syrup which
vincent said got
the taste of Sarsi)

Dextrametrophan don work
for dry cough ... it's nvr gg
to work ... n it doesn't
induce me to sleep ... but
left me in a semi-state of
unconsiousness ... a mere
state of existence

I was v conservative during the
week leading to Christmas ...
becuz I wan to recover in
time ... so I din do
anymore Christmas shopping ...
only leaving house for tuition, by
basic theory trial test, replacing
my Nokia earphone, meeting up with
Keith for dinner and getting my
RS-MMC card

I juz prepare briefly for the trial test
cuz I wish to know the
exam style, the type of
questions ... so I don have
to spend time
on stuff tt won't come out ...
I'm juz hopelessly trying
to be exam smart n so
I din pass my first trial test

I got 43 pts ... 2 pts shy of
the passing mark ... which is
nt bad ... I was shocked to
see the number 43 ...
43 is a number
firmly marked
in my mind

the next day I took the trial test
... it was a harder pp ...
so I was cursing throughout
the test ... I was
worried I will be a loser
n fail again ... but life's
good

Friday ... I was busy preparing
materials for tuition ... when I
finished @ 3pm I was
really v statisfied ... but I was
real hungry ... I was @
the photocopy shop n
finally I started
talking with the owner of the
shop again ... before
we went Sweden we used
to converse quite frequently
... but after I returned
we felt like stranger n
I oso donno how to initiate
topic ... so it feels
great to break the ice again

Jayce's big Christmas Eve
party finally arrives ...
the plc I chose
to buy the food for the
potluck arises out of
inspiration ... I always
feel the best decision
always come out of inspiration ...
all the food @ the potluck
were gud ... n there
weren't a lot of
leftovers ... so the potluck
was a great success
... the leftovers were
settled by some games which
lasted us till close to
midnight when the
gift exchange started

there wasn't any crappy gifts these
year ... guess the
list of ban items definitely
helps ... though I thot
mine was quite crappy... but
luckily no one
thot the same as me

overall the Christmas party
was a success ... the
party-goers were fun
& gregarious ... by the time I return
home it was 5am

Christmas Day was more
relaxed ... movie + shopping

'Chronicles of Nardia' was oki for me,
but the real deal was the 30% discount
from Sportslink ...

there are a few more days before
2005 ends ... have plenty of
fun ... post-Christmas shopping
& a great countdown to 2006 !!!
my resolution for 2006 is to be
happy and free of illness for the

after 6mth with Nokia 3230 ... I
finally bought a RS-MMC card
which can store all my audio...
I was @ the market plc n
den there was tis pushcart
store selling the card...
the whole purchase
took less than 5 mins ...
normally I don buy these
stuffs @ the market ... so
tt was quite unbecoming of me
... actually I was surprised the
seller was realli v friendly ...
n the CUSTOMER service
is TOP-NOTCH, first-class

I have been transferring songs to my
mobile ever since ... I can't live
without songs ... the best
Christmas song should
be 宇恒 -"Merry Christmas"
... it's sweet, melodious, lyrical
... I luv it the first time
I heard it over the radio ...
宇恒 has got a very
touching voice n
she uses her voice v well n
she can see both melodramatic
songs & merry songs ... though
the feeling her song inspired is
quite different from Sammi Cheng
... Sammi Cheng is an one-off, it's
highly unlikely
to find another singer who has
similar talents
but i still like 范围棋 a lot ... her
songs has a lot of life n tempo
n she has a wide
audio range ...

until it was gift-exchange

year... all the pressie
were gud ... all
those JJ got some sticks
initially for buying toiletries
but he almost ran away
with the Best Pressie award

was gud stuff ... plenty of fun ...

Sunday, December 11, 2005 @ 2:15 PM December will disappear before you know it it has been a long 2 weeks since I last updated tis blog .... it had been a busy n efficient fortnight ... I din even have much of a rest now sitting on my chair on a cloudy Sunday afternoon, I'm falling a bit sick I hope I will recover in a day... I was busy applying for some scholarship programs both in Singapore n overseas everything was wrapped up by end November, so now I juz have to wait for the outcome I want to live my dream, n tt means holding up for the chance to do HIV research other pple has chatised me for rejecting some opportunities but I guess personal preference is non-debatable in Dec, I feel realli light ... if you have loads of nonsense off your back ... u will feel the same way I was on Abel's bike on a rainy friday, and the wind was blowing at a furious speed, the bike was trembling n by the time we reached Jalan Kayu, we were realli drenched but I'm the pillion passenger so I'm in a beta shape both Abel & my uncle like to take the 'country-like' route that leads from Jalan Kayu to Yishun via Seletar Dam it's a route tt is v fun where u r on a bike; on a lorry it can be a bumpy ride by the time I reached home, I was quietly hoping that I won't get sick the nxt morning boss calls me early on Sat morning & I has rushed down to one of his branch to give tuition nxt yr tuition classes r ez to teach ... Sec sch students r easier to teach than Pri students ... & 1.5 hr per session is juz right for me the students are very quiet ... sometimes they don't even want to nod their head ... guess I'm still quite a stranger to them Sat 3, was JC mate, TC's farewell dinner ... it has been a while ... but it was quite an enjoyable evening ... just plainly talking about basically anything that we could tink of ... I remembered I loved my JC1 class and wasn't quite glad tt the school decided to do some rearrangements with all the classes JC years weren't my most enjoyable period ...but the frenzs met are wonderful I was more of a nerd then, n I arrived in sch without combing my hair ... n my hair juz looked like the cap of a mushroom all my classmates say I have changed the most among everyone ... my niece was born on 5 Dec ... n his brother is alreadi getting jealous ... so I was @ Thomson Medical Centre ... juz to see the newborn mum & cousins were all commenting about her facial features ... but honestly I think all newborns don't look very different ... I juz kept my mouth shut lor if not they will insist they r rite n stuff ... I will like to see how she will turn up to be mabbe she will be a charming princess ... I juz hope she won't start smashing my ting basically I may have to share my bed with my niece ... but I absolutely love the smell of baby ... mum says it's the smell of milk !!! I enjoy watching the baby sleep n den smelling their scent It's nicer than perfume!!! I finally have a birthday treat from Dick on 7 Dec ... 3 mths after my bdae ... juz blame it on our conflicitng schedule we did some window-shopping ... with my burgeoning shopping list I have to discard the less important ones ... 2 weeks more to Christmas & I haven't make any key purchases How much have I bought? Exchange Gift? Nope Birthday Gift? Nope Christmas Card? Not sent yet Gifts for my students? Only 1 so far It's a long way ... I hope to meet up with Zhuzhen next week... so she can help me with the shopping Zhuzhen & Keith r 2 great pals to go gift-hunting with me especially when I'm a throughly inefficent person who likes to savour the moments n do things only when the feel arises ... gg shopping with an efficient person IS a MUST!!! On thursday I sang with Zhuzhen, Cheefeng & their frenz for the first time ... what I knew from tt day is tis: (1) KBox can refill your titbits free of charge ... in total we top-up 2 of our titbits try three times ... so the $2.50/pax paid for the titbits is more worth it (2) Singing karaoke for 5 hrs is tiring but enjoyable (3) it's easier to sing Fan Weiqi's song than Sammi Cheng n KBox Fan Weiqi's collection is disappointing ... her songs have a very moving tempo n her voice is gud (4) Cafe Cartel serves food that taste beta than I expect after almost a 1 year break from fishing, i fished again with Vincent... Vincent wanted to try how is it like to fish it was a rainy Friday morning to begin with... but we decided to fish anyway 3 hours ... 4 fish of the same species ... I never had this type of experience but I luv the fact tt I'm beta at removing hook from the fish n tt Vincent caught some fish on his maiden fishing trip Jianhong introduced me to fishing some years back ... & I'm grateful for it ... if I had time I wanted to nurture this interest ... but right now I always had my website to worry abt ... so let's see how tings turn out bez part abt the weekend was meeting up with Yihao, Junwei & Kenneth for tea ... I crap a lot with Yihao so it's juz the routine ... but it's delightful to know that Junwei has a bigger interest in photography than me ... n now at least I got more one person to learn from I will end 2005 with perhaps a trip to Cameron Highlands after all ... it's the only overseas trip I can afford P.S. To my pals: don't worry if my blog is not updated for a long while. I have no intention to close this, and will update when I can find the time.
