A Shambolic July

I will always remember July 2007 ...
always remember all the mistakes
I had made ... to me
it was a good wakeup CALL

Phoenix & me ended our "special" relationship
on July 25

Between Jun 27 to Jul 14 I made
lotsa mistakes... all those mistakes
cost me dear

I was clearly the culprit ... tt is
honestly all I want to say

my actions were ambiguous
at best & my EGO is my
worst ENEMY

EGO Kunyao ... pathetic...

we chatted two hours ... after
2.5 weeks of silence...
I finally heard her talk

the first hour was tough ...
becuz there were a lot of
resentments ... but I'm glad
we had a honest conversation

after an hour, I heard her
trademark laughter ... by then,
of cuz we have became frenzs ...

I know myself quite well ...
ME ... I'm a SUPER
egoistic person ...
tis was a tight slap on my face,
a good Wake-up call

It's 11:40 pm ... I'm not quite
exhausted ... but the past 2 weeks
was like being in a
terrible dream

I had known Phoenix for slightly more than
a year ... I'm glad
to have known her ... glad
tt she was always there supporting
me in my tough first year
at work

Phoenix is beautiful in
everyway. I luv her spontaneity,
her sporty personality and the
care n generosity she
shown towards her friends.

Feb 2006; I noticed a lady
walked past the common corridor
in the lab. I was intrigued
by this lady; she was here
sometimes but nt always

When I finally knew her name, I
was ecstatic.

In Early 2006, I wld be
@ the canteen and watched
her queued up in front
of the noodles store

All those days, I still
remember them so dearly.

In May ... I was having a
serious bouts of flu ... when
I came back ... I was missing her v badly

Before knowing her ... there was
so much anticipation ...
I could walk pass the room
where she might be in occasionally ...
glanced towards my left
hoping to see her

The first few months of work wasn't
easy ... but getting to see
her occasionally more than
made up for it

there were lotsa ups and downs ...
things always took a twist
when we were
conversing well

In November, when I knew that
she was leaving for Australia ...
I cried ...

I don't cry easily but affairs
of the heart always make
me a softer person.

Still, I wanted to pursue things with
her. She always thought I like
challenges n tt partly
y I continue with things

But it is not true ... I have the
never say die spirit becuz
I couldn't survive without it ...
But my liking for
her has nothing to do with
tt ...

Love & determination
are things which I don
equate together ... for me
my liking for her is real ...
nvr has any doubts abt it
, nvr will

My biggest regret is she
never believe me completely ...
I don blame her for
tt becuz we just
din spend enuff time
together before she
left for Australia

When the foundation
isn't there, things
can be difficult

During quiet moments, I really
felt her absence. I miss
our witty conversation,
her laughter n the
care she always shower me

Everyday from Feb 15,
I wish I could touch her,
hold her hands and hug
her

For me, it will take a while
to get over things, but
I will recover.

Three ways of making $$$

I was on my way to tuition then
I thought of how I have been
earning $$$ recently

(1): Research allowance: Ever since
I returned from my trip, there are several
good news & 1 bad new (more on
the bad new next time). Though the
bad new is rather drastic, the good new
is I got a 33% increase in my allowance.

(2) Tuition: Relatively, this is more relaxing
compare to the other two. I have been
giving tuition for like 9 years. Time really
flies. Thinking about those time feels
me with a great dose of satisfaction.
I think I could still remember a few of their names:
Shawn, Marcus, Jackson, Weijie, Zhaoyi,
Jonathan, Perlyn.

My previous boss at the centre really
supported me all the way. His faith
in me has always touches my heart.
I will never those moment of warmth
he imbued in me.

(3) Buying stock: Back in November 2006,
I have started reading about stocks. I read
the Business Times everyday on the way
to work. Basically, I'm excited
abt the business world. I like the whole
idea of turning vision into goal

I bought my first stock in January. Then,
I was quite inexperienced. Though, I know
the mathematics of what i have invested,
i donno the most important thing, when
to buy and when to sell?

Justin introduced me to technical analysis and
since making use of both fundamental and
technical analysis, I feel more equipped.

Have I made any money??? I will let u all
know by the end of this year.

Of the three, tuition is probably the least
complicated of the three. For me, giving
tuition has become v natural for me. Doing
research is not yet second nature to me;
the best analogy about
doing research is that of a person
finding his way in the dark. There are
doubts sometime. Sometimes, you
wonder whether your approach is correct.
Often, the experimental results
are disappointing and one get
frustrated.

Buying stock is a very emotional thing.
Nothing gets more emotional than
that. The thing about buying
stock is simple: YOU HAVE
TO BE CLEAR IN YOUR DIRECTIONS.
In a simplistic way, it feels a
bit like how I used to spot question for exam.
I only study what I spotted, nothing else.
I suppose when you identify a stock, you
have to trust your judgement and buy
it without fear. I believe I will be ready
in the next BULL market

Beautiful JAPAN

I was in Tokyo from 18 to 27th June

I planned trip rather late... so I was on
leave the friday before, trying to
plan the trip as I promised Kian Leng

It is early summer in Tokyo ... but the
weather is fantastic ... there
wasn't as much rain as anticipitated

the weather is COOLING ... & it's like
outdoor AIR-CONDITION

the best part abt the trip
was the BEAUTY of the place ...
the people are wonderfully dressed ...
the boutique are stocked up
with fantastic clothes @ "FANTASTIC"
price ... the food packaging is
BEAUTIFUL ... n there are beautiful places
like Odaiba aka the rainbow bridge, the disco
"Womb" n the large scale SUNTEC tt is
ROPONGGI Hills

At Changi Airport, Kian Leng asked me
whether I knew some Jap. It doesn't make
sense but I'm always v poorly equipped
language-wise when I travelled. I
reckon I will find a way; it
just doesn't occur to me
that I will lose my way. I told
him we will be all right.

We din do much when we reached Tokyo ...
we visited a temple (which turns up to
be the only temple we visited the only trip).
I'm not a history person so one temple
is good enough. The way people
ask for divination is quite different
from the one in Singapore; its faster
though. Kian Leng tried it ...
but I din. I din have a good
experience getting a lot.

The second day trip ... we went to this town
called Nikko ... we took a bus that
took us out of the mountain. We read that
some flowers were blooming ... so we waited
for an hour for the bus ... when we reached
there ... we were so bloody disappointed
becuz there were only a few flowers ard.

The air in Nikko is fantastic ... v beautiful
place ... n the air is fresh & crisp. It has
been a while since I breathed such
fresh air. Nikko will be beautiful
in Autumn; in summer, I suppose
one just have to savour the air ... it
did left me rejuveinated

The first two days in Japan were
rather quiet ... but there more to come.

The third day we went to the museum
which showcases the work of the
director who made "Spirited Away"
I felt like being transported to another
world in the museum. A memorable
morning.

At the top of the museum, there
was this gigantic model ... I saw
it in the guidebook ... so by
tourists' instinct, I took a snap with
KL

Tt afternoon I went to one of my
MUST-GO destination in Tokyo, Odaiba.
Toyota has a rather big showroom there and
one can take a good night view of
Fuji TV tower. From the TV tower, one can
get a good glimpse of Ferris Wheel. Well,
all these gimmicks are all for tourists. I mean
if you are residing in your own country, do
you care so much about seeing the night
view. Right? unless u are dating, which
is another matter all together.

Above is the picture of Fuji TV tower facing the
Rainbow bridge. The Rainbow bridge
is an object of absolute beauty. There
were lotsa couples sitting along
the bridge enjoying the
sounds of the seas, the flight
of the birds. Sitting on the beach,
I felt a sense of longing for Phoenix, at
that moment how I wished she
was by my side. Below is Odaiba
at night, GORGEOUS isn't it. I'm a
sucker for night scenery. I luv
to see the shimmering light which
never fails to imbue nostalgic thoughts
of my childhood.

We ate at one of the restaurants facing the beach ...
the sight is gorgeous ... n
the beef is fantastic. Japanese
definitely cooked better
beef. I nvr ate so much beef my whole
life haha

We ventured into their CBD, Shinjuku on the
fifth day. The metro station is huge. We were
trying to find the exit to Times Square and we
were lost.

Times Square is huge & beside it is
the impressive Tokyu Hands. Tokyu Hands
is Handifix, Artfriend, Watson &... all combined
into one. In short, it's the "supermarket" for all
the inedible consummables.

Anyway, Time Square was just too expensive
for us. We made our way to OIOI, which
have 7 floors of guys' clothings. 7 FLOORS,
the whole shopping centre dedicated to
guys' clothes. IMPRESSIVE!!!

Every guy in Japan wears some sort
of accessories. I like accessories a lot too
but in Singapore it's a bit weird to wear ...
I had an eye on one of them and the
salegirl was superfriendly ... she
was very delighted when I bought it.
haven wear it since though

We ate sushi on the conveyor belt tt
nite. YUMMY!!! Tt night we
went clubbing in their downtown area,
Shibuya.

Our first stop was "WOMB". I luv the
decor, it's v nice & I luv the crowd
too. The crowd is spontaneous & I have
fun dancing. We changed club after that
when Kian Leng was sick of the
music they were playing. The
second club has a different feel; Kian Leng
likes it more, by then I was a bit tired already.
We went back at 5am & the sky was
already so bright.

Saturday was shopping day. We were
at Shibuya in late afternoon. I bought
a top at one of the shop; the service
left a deep impression on me. The standard of
service in Japan is such, in some boutiques
after you pay, they will accompany you to
the exit n say bye to you before
passing you the thing that you had
purchased. Secondly, if
it's a rainy day, the staff will wrap your
paper bag with a plastic film so that your
bag won't get wet.

Truly, one get pampered
in Japan. After I came back,
I have to get readjusted
to the service standard here. Singapore
is not too bad, but
if u are in Japan u can TELL
THE DIFFERENCE.

Sunday was itself an experience. The
itinerary was Harajuku to watch
the cosplay then to Meiji shrine, follow by
shopping at Taeshita Dori. Next, we
venture to Roppongi Hills where
KL bought his shoes n last stop
was to a Japanese restaurant.

The girls above are the more expressive ones
of those that was showing their costumes.
There's one more below.

Din take a picture of Roponggi Hills but
it's a splendid development. The
architect should be v proud
of his work. I'm glad I at
least was there to take a glimpse.

Monday: We went to Hakone
which "SUPPOSEDLY" offers
to best view of Mt Fuji.

It was all foggy. can't even tell
where the HELL is Mt Fuji. wanna
see the extent of the fogginess??
can't see anything behind me right?

We did try the hot spring though. I must say
Kian Leng can tolerate HEAT far
better than me. Me ... lousy ...haha

The next day, I did some last shopping
@ Shibuya. Tt time I din eat much,
I went to 7 eleven n purchase some
dessert. The desserts are gud!!!

I will go Japan again if opportunity arises!!!
