Acuvue 2 moist/ Insurance/ Stocks &
Investments/Great Singapore Sale/
World Cup/ Interview

on a Sat morning, I spent close to $170
at the local marketplace...
I don't recall spending so much
in the past few months

Acuve 2 Moist + my standard
contacts len costs $150 ...

I always have a weakness
for contact lens
advertisement

so when colleague Karen
told me abt the new lenses, I juz
nod my head

I can't believe tt I actually
bought it a few days later

I juz hope it works on my eye ...
with the one day Acuvue, I can
go to work & watch movies
after tt without getting
red eyes

or wat pple say tiring eyes

anyway I always think
contact len is
a simple but miraculous
invention

& I always love
contact len advertisement ...
nt the one on TV but
those on printed
media

they appeal to your
aesthetics ... but doesn't
appeal to your wallet

still, everyone has an
internal fraility ... I'm nt
spare either

I have serious doubts abt

Thursday I went for an interview ...
it was a bit surrealistic

the moment I stepped into
the Dean's office ...
I was like "why are
there so many pple waiting to
be interviewed, this
will take time"

it was farny ... some
of the interviewee
came out of the room
with a charcoal face ... sometimes
u can hear laughter
coming out for the interview
room

& the room is small ... I
was thinking how it
can fit four to five persons

how can it fit??? I was wondering ...

I was chatting with the pple outside the room
... some were my juniors ...
some were my batch

they were v friendly ... & we din
hide our fear

my hands were close ... so
was the guy sitting next to me

but we are all look calm ...

midway thru then I realise ...
there were intervews for 2
diff groups, one was for
the postgraduate scholarship,
the other was for direct pHD

one of the interviewer asked me...
"U look different from the
foto"

Me: "It's the result of some makeover, but
the facial features are the
same"

Interviewer 1 took a closer look & interviewer
2 says it's him all rite...

We all laughed ... the interview
lasted for 5 minutes...
the strangest interview
I ever attended

Before I left, interviewer 1
asked me how the
atmosphere outside ...
WAT A QUESTION???

I said everyone was nervous....

He was surprised ... he must have faked
tt response... where got pple not

The World Cup Begins!!!

I wasn't so keen during the countdown to
the World Cup

BUT I watched the Germany opener anyway

& I watched the England match anyway

& I watched Netherlands vs S & M

it's impossible for me to believe in the
hype ... for me not to
watch the world
cup

pple juz asked & asked abt my
opinions ... I juz can't
say my interest
in soccer begins & ends
with Arsenal

the Germany opener is a gud
beginning for the
World Cup

the England vs Paraguay
match juz revealed
everything we knew abt
the English team

FACT #1: Ericksson doesn't know
what he is doing.

FACT #2: Rooney makes Ericksson
looks gud

Without Rooney, the team is
AS GOOD AS Paraguay ...
never mind the players...
SOCCER IS ABOUT THE
TEAM & THE MANAGER ...

The MANAGER is the brain

APPOINT A LOUSY manager

& a mixture of antioxidants

in time of dire needs ... antioxidants
are the last resorts

I have studied antioxidants for a while ...
did some research on it

yet I'm still clueless on how
important it is

still, i'm not someone who must know
how something works in
order to use it

I just anything I can lay
my hand on ...
& if it works for me ...
it's gud watever
its mechanism

early week it was a struggle
to get back to work ...

a real struggle

I have lost the momentum to work after
being on MC ... but I'm getting
back again

Flu/Weird Weekend/A Strange Beginning
to June

In total, my flu has lasted 14 days &
it still shows no sign of
recovering

in fact, my flu has just got worst ...
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT... I saw
the docs twice ... but
the medicine doesn't seem to work

over the weekend ... I was determined
enuff to rid of the disease ...
tt I juz took wat I can lay my hands
on

Expectorant, Dextramatorphan, Codeine,
Anti-histamine, some lozenges... I was
so deeply confident it WILL WORK

But things got worst ... tt I have
to cancel my Sunday activities ...

the worst thing is the drowsy medicine
doesn't seem to make me sleep...
I was coughin & I can't sleep

still, I'm quite happy

I received an email from someone
deeply rooted in my memory ...

It came as a surprise ... but if
being down with flu was
the price ... It was
well-worth it

I could only say "if I have
it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing"
... even if things hadn't been perfect ...

Goodbye Nokia, Hello Samsung!!!

After 10 mths of experimentation
with Nokia ... I'm now
back w Samsung

so much has changed since
my first Samsung phone,
the IRRESTIBLE blue-i

now Samsung is much more
user friendly ... & more
value-added

the design is still there ...
but it's more value
for $$$

6 mths when I saw
Samsung X700 ... I thot
it was A VERY CLASSY candy-bar
phone ... it was like the
prince of candy-bar phone

& I LOVE candy-bar phone !!!

but i nvr expect having
to buy a phone w/o
contract so FAST ...

the owner of the fone
said she used it
only twice ... & everything
was intact ... so
we closed the deal at $350

it's the first BLACK thing
I own ... I nvr like
BLACK ... but I like
X700 ... becuz it's is
so omniverous in its design ...
it like a business-class phone
tt looks perfectly in place
when u are out having fun

I hope it will last...

"First Kiss" with Kian Leng
last, last Monday

I nvr knew italian film
were so popular among local ...

"First Kiss" is an
awesome movie ...
the lead actress is like WOW!!!

wat a virtuoso performance !!!

"First Kiss" is altogether funny,
dramatic & quite insightful

It has a weird tempo & the mood
changes v fast

tis year I haven't watch
tt many Korean movies ... the direction
Korean cinema is gg
is tricky

with one movie per month screening
in Singapore, Korean movie
is picking up BUT

sometimes the selection are
not QUALITY

I remembered my first Korean movie,
Shiri. Whenever it rains, I recall
moments in the movie ... awesome
movies are like vintage
wine ... every recall
intensifies your feel for the movie
