My Third Asics Shoe
I had resisted buying a new pair
of running shoes for the most
part of 2006
2 Reasons: (1) I WANT
TO CONTROL MY SPENDING
(2) I DON'T WANT TO
DESERT MY FIRST PAIR
OF Asics
It was in 2002 that I bought my
first pair of Asics. It was a
single-gel Asics shoes, not the
top performer of Asics, but gud
enuff.
There was a curious joy in owning my
first Asics running shoes. After 4 years,
it's a bit torn, but I still wear it.
Even now, onto my third pair of
running shoes, I still have
tt excitement of owning an
Asics.
I told my frenzs, nowadays, Asic's design
lacks imagination, but I still peeped
@ my new Asics shoes everytime
I got home. I must admit
the design grows on u.
I WILL NEVER RUN WITHOUT
ASICS!!!
Running
gives me strength & belief. It eases
my bad day & makes me feel so alive.
So a running shoe is like a
companion.
I bought my Asics on Hari Raya. On tt
day, I brushed up my mahjong
with Jayce, Pingting, JJ, Vivian & DL. I ended
up the top loser!!! By the time,
I reached home it was
past 12.
______________________
I haven't write a lot since Sep 6. A quick recap:
I have busy with tuitions, driving lessons, a
couple of gatherings; at the workplace
I'm still trying to get things RIGHT,
but I have supportive colleagues
ard me, so things are fine.
Tuitions took up a large part of time. Exam
period is busy period for me. Extra sessions
ate away all my FREE TIME!!!
In one week, I can tutor on 5 of the
7 days. It's MASSIVE
COMMITEMENT
Although, it's no fun perspiring thru
weekdays & weekends, the inner
satisfaction is JUST REWARD!!!
I LUV to see my
students improve, though I ALWAYS
HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS OF
THEM
My tuition centre's boss wanted to me to
continue teaching
next year. I have been
at the centre for 5 years & my
boss has treated me v well.
Still, there's ALWAYS A TIME
to say goodbye. I feel the time
is ripe now!!!
It's a bit poignant to leave after
5 years. I'm glad, that people
enjoy my teachings &
tt I had set the foundations
at the centre
I'm completing the bulk of my
driving lessons. I'm still
not as gud!!!
Still not a confident driver. Sometimes,
I drive well, sometimes my driving
sux.
I like to drive when I have enough rest.
Taking lessons after work sux
big time. I make tonnes of MISTAKES if I
drive after work.
The best instructor I have is a
Chinese guy. He's not patronising &
he points out all my
mistakes. With him,
I improve a lot.
JC Anniversary dinner took place on 9 Sep ...
to be back at YJC is
a special feeling
I never have special liking for JC life but
I make some great friends there
It was pathetic to have lessons on 4 of
the 5 days.
It was demoralising to leave @ 5pm on a Friday
when all is quiet
Gabriel is one of my first friend @ YJC; I
was happy to see his son
2 weeks back.
The dinner costs a lot to my pocket. $80 for
the tickets. $80 for 4 giraffe.
I saw my Maths teacher & I was so
happy to see her ... UNFORTUNATELY,
she was in charge of selling
the giraffe & I found
myself $80 poorer
She was one of the most
dedidated teacher I ever had. She's
a bit naggy but I won't
do my homework if she's not
lecturing
Bio teacher wasn't ard. I can't
listen attentively in
bio lessons. Never was, never is ... My
Bio teacher was Mr Ng, I thought
he didn't like me in the
beginning ... I ended up
being his secretary
for the Environment club
I mastered the art of spotting
questions indirectly from Mr Ng
'A' level was just the beginning of
my spotting; when I tried
spotting in university, it
was with tremendous success.
It was sad that Mr Ng wasn't there
for the dinner, still, I remembered
8 years ago I promised him
I will get at least a B for my Biology, I
din disappoint.
Chem teacher, Ms Chung is no
longer as fiery as before. She
enjoys her life now, touring all
ard the globe.
JC-pal, Sinwah helped me
assembled my PC on the
last week of Sep. The best
thing was the LG monitor. So beautiful,
so classy & the 'ON' switch is SUPER cool ...
u just need to gently touch it.
The speaker was a bargin at $30, but it's
spoilt after 3 weeks.
Conclusion #1: I'm better off
buying branded gadgets.
I luv my new desktop, but surprisingly
I luv my new Asics more.
Sec sch's chalet was on 7 Oct'06.
Theturnout was a bit disappointing, sothere were plenty of food.
In total, therewere less than 20 of us, maybe slightlymore than 10.
Still, it's a pity I din stay overnight.
Class chairman, weefeng, is stillas charismatic as before.
I'm amaze by the speed of his rebuttal. Unforgettable!!!
So the best part of Sep was spent
giving tuition. My students did well,
so it's a job well done.
I still have unfinished business to be completed this
year!!! I want to wrap up
everything in November &
merry in December!!!
My new year resolution was crashed
in March. After July, I have
been in the PINK of my HEALTH.
It's a hectic year, but it has
been so satisfying!!
