3 weeks away from reservist


I am weeks away from reservist, so
I'm rushing to kickstart my
next phase of my
research project before
I left for reservist


It seem a struggle initially
trying to start the next
phase of my project; I feel
like a greenhorn n there
were a lot of things I donno


So there was a very
strong pull factor. But,
the push factor was v
strong as well ...


I can imagine the long
December vacation &
the perks of graduating
on time


At the moment, I have just
started on my next phase
of my proj


Actually, I'm glad that
I have a solid group
of colleagues ard
me who are always willingly
to help


Anyway, this will be the final phase of
my project ... although this
final phase will be a
long one. Still, I'm
v happy to reach
this stage after
a long period of uncertainity

the other day I was with a group
of friends and soon we
were talking about
the cost of an
engagement ring


Life should be v simple, but
modern life makes it
more complicated
than it should be ... first,
I think the value of
an engagement ring
is not equivalent
to the value of a relationship


A true love relationship
is invaluable and
irreplacable ... so I think
it becomes rather
ridiculous when pple
start comparing about the
actual cost of the ring

I was looking thru the top 20
Chinese pop on FM 93.3 website,
when I saw the title "伯乐"


First impression on hearing the
song was that it has sth
to do with love


I asked my colleague Karen
and we did a google


It took a while for me to
get the meaning right;
den I realised
how beautiful the song
was written


"伯乐" is originally used to
describe someone who has
an aptitude for
identify good horsebreed;
someone who cares a lot
about the horses and bring
out the best in them.


In the context song, I could
think "伯乐" refers
to finding one's soulmate


其实，我想每个人都在寻找

Will Singapore win their first Olympics medal?


I asked rather cheekily the question to
a couple of pple in my family ...
they all appeared disinterested ...


They seem more interested in
how many medals China
will win

My family like to watch gymnastics,
swimming and diving.


My favourite is volleyball and hockey; not
a firm favourite among many
but I LIKE


I was watching Japan vs US woman volleyball
on TV last Sat. It was like 'giant' against 'dwarf'
though I might exaggarate a bit


I saw the lineup and I sort of fear
for the Japanese. Will Japan be thrashed?
Tt was the first question of my mind


Though Japan does not have the power, they
do have plenty of agility, spirit
and teamwork.


By the time I finish this article, Singapore
is already on course for
at least a silver. So it's
the end of the 48 years
wait


Not too long ago, the Olympics
medal seem like a far
away dream; a dream not
so attainable


Things can change very
quickly for good
and bad


But as always there is always
the controversy about
the nationality
of the pple
representing us


Contrary to what most of my
family members think,
I think it's ok
even though
they are not born
in Singapore


A century ago, our forefathers were
from China ... so what's the
argument


I believe what is important
is whether as a nation
we can be moulded
to be more sporting
and embrace sport
as a way of life.
I think tt is what winning an
Olympic medal is supposed to
mean

I'm a month away from my reservist ...
I don really dread it ... but
it's just a hassle to have
to pack my stuff ...
tt the No. 1 thing
I hate


I think it's sth different for a change...


As for work, I'm really happy that
I have two years left for my
postgraduate if
everything goes well ...


I'm now at the crucial part
of my postgraduate project ... but
I'm still waiting for an
inspiration ... when
the inspiration comes thing
will happen v quickly


The 2-3 years of postgrad has
been tough but I have grown a lot.
My self confidence has grown
& I feel I'm really
moving forward everyday
even though emotionally
it has been turbulent


Slowly, with a lot of patience,
I want to fufill my vision
for a solid life.

Want-ing to be different


Life is a game of choices. At
the moment, it's between
going for the safe
choice or
taking the plunge
into things which I believe
in


No matter what, I believe I
will be a risk-taker for
a longer time. It's
easier sometimes to take
the safe choice


With a safe choice, you sleep well ...
things might not be rosy
but life is under control
or appears to be ... BUT
one will always think
maybe things can be
better


At work, I think I'm pretty stuck ...
I told Jayce tt I'm still
waiting for a good
idea to arrive


"Why don't you just do something
not so ambitious, just so that
you can graduate"


I don wanna be a slave for
security ... it just
doesn't make
it happy nor does it
make me alive ...

I was reading about the interview
with TCS actor, Thomas Ong


It was a good article. Basically, he
didn't mince his words; &
I respect people who
say what they mean
without always
fearing the
consequence


That was something he said which
struck me "Basically, people
just fear betrayal"


Yup, I could think so; it irks
me meeting pple who
treat pple like "tools". I just
hope they will get their just deserts.


I always have this desire
to exact revenge but luckily
I forgive people rather
easily ... if not
I will make enemy like
nobody business

Oil price has dropped after
rising like nobody
business


Commodity prices are hard
to predict. That is why
after a failure in
investing in oil
palm stock, I
decided I will never invest
in commodities again


Investing is a bit like life.
If you invest in the
things you don't
believe in, it's
v difficult


There were a couple of times
when I really regreted
my decision; after I
decided tt it's
not worth
it to invest
in very volatile stocks


I will be investing for a long
time; because I have
passion for it. I
never do things just
for the sake of money,
this is no exception.
