Needing a break


Working pass 9pm on consecutive days
is not my thing ... but
I have been doing
tt precisely


My colleagues were like making
remarks tt all of a sudden
tt I'm so hardworking


I don't have a choice ... but
den it's easier to work longer
hour than when I first
started ... so things
can change


Seriously, I really need a break ...
Ever since 2009 begin,
I have work harder, more
tuition assignment n more
gatherings than the same
period 2008 ... so a good
break is v welcome ...
but I don't quite know when


My honours yr student has completed
a proj; she is probably my
last attachment student ... I'm
looking forward to graduating
next year ...


Pingting asked me what plan I have
after graduation. I should
have replied "My plan is to have
no plan" n note her response.
On a serious note, I haven't quite
decided yet, it might be something
nt v mainstream, becuz I have
nvr see myself as a mainstream
person, n sticking with
the ordinary don't always make
me happy


My RJ attachment students returned
back to lab with a big cake
& a card for me ... I think
they really caught me by surprise ...
kinda touching

Over the weekend, I went to karaoke
with two frenzs n four gals
tt I never met before


I din wish to go but din have
much of a choice

the ktv was at bugis & the mic
was much better than a few
places I went ... the sound
quality was also better


The gals sang v well ...
but the atmosphere
was v different compare to
singing with kk & pals or
bryan & pals or other frenzs ...


the best person I sang with
was Alan ... his voice
was quite electric ... we
both like Kenji & Eason so
we have to sing half each ...
but Alan was like
streets ahead of me ...
he's a serious singer


Saturday was a hectic one,
three gathering in one day ...
one of the best part
was morning walk with KK
& pals ... v v funny
group of pple ... outsiders
will find us v noisy

listening to 大嘴巴 is v refreshing.
The second album is v gud ...


But I told my colleague, 大嘴巴's music
is not for everyone ... u either
really hate it or u truly
enjoy it, I belong
to the latter camp

It's feel like the first time I heard
OutKast, I thot they were the
real deal ... now Chinese pop
has always been v mainstream ...
the lyrics are usually
v gud but they don so much
"play" with music and experiment
with a different beat ...


So 大嘴巴 is gud for a change ...
I thot Aisha has improved a lot,
for a non-native speaker a rap
is really v v gud ... I can't
figure up how she improve so fast ...


hearing "愛的宣言" gives me the
feel about how love should be like.
v light, v fun and v natural


other than tt, this year release
has been rather gud ...I wonder
whether 大嘴巴 will launch
a third album this year, really
love their music

Finally, got to watch Marley & Me


I was really surprise that it din get
a Valentine Day release ... it could
be the perfect movie for V day


I remembered Mingyan use
to carry the book in
a bag & I bought
the book for Siangyong
for his birthday present


A lot of pple are in love

with the book & I was
especially looking
forward to the movie partly
becuz I couldn't bring
myself to reading the book


The online review did really
a lousy job; the movie
appears to be v disappointing
for the reviewer


colleague, Junli, told me the book
is better. It's expected
but den comparing a book
to a movie is like
comparing orange to apple


'Marley & Me' is enjoyable for me, pal
Stella loves it too ...


"Maybe the moral of the story is
not to plan too much", tt wat
Stella said & I tend to agree


I like to take things as they
come ... planning sometime
take the fun away out of
things


Sometimes, it essential, but
with a lot of things, it's always
don overDO things ...

At work, I got a huge, huge relief ...


Since August, I have been
working on the downstream
study of one part of my proj


It's pretty risky, becuz the
"ingredient" for the study takes
at least months to prepare


My lab didn't quite specialise
in such stuff ... so it wasn't
easy ...


Last week, i did a trial of my
ingredient and it works fine ...


Now I can expect the Phase 3 of my
project to be completed more
smoothly hopefully by the
mid of this year ...


Postgrad has been tougher
than I thought ... at first,
I am disturbed by
the things tt I can't control ...
it's only during the later
phase tt I know how to
manage my risk ...


Still I think when I eventually
leave the lab, I will have
wonderful memories
of the place... but I will
love to move on &
I hope I don need to work
in the western part of Singapore

team & demanding

Even site like ANR has been writing
loads of rubbish ... it seem
like the writer is more
excited abt being
proved correct about
the downfall of the team ...


Absolutely delighted it seemed


If u enjoy slagging the team,
stop supporting the team


In Spring 2005, the team played
pretty good stuff ... those good moments are
sth tt lives inside my mind for a
long time


It's ok to endure
a couple of torrid seasons ...
misery don't last forever...
it's about loyalty n the
belief in the team u
support
