Rotten Dream
Have u ever woke up & really cursed
the dream that you had?
Tt's wat happened to me days ago.
I was in this weird place ... like not
in Singapore & realised I was
in army uniform ... den
I met my former army superior
& we had some chat ...
The army camp seemed to be in
some rural place & then we
went to this ultra-big
food centre for lunch ... before
I know it all my frenzs
just disappeared ... den
I was alone ...
Somehow I managed to reach
back to the barracks ... running
along the expressway ... really
really, cursing *#&!@# ...
totally bollocks right ?
How rubbish can a dream be? this
should rank top, seriously.

On one of the Saturday's night, we went
to a frenz's plc for karaoke. The
subscription for starhub's karaoke is
abt $8/mth.
However, the songs were rather limited.
A lot of new and old songs weren't
there ...
We played monopoly card game after tt.
The game is more fun
than the boardgame, as you
can sabotage each other. &
the card is much cheaper than
the boardgame.

Yesterday, I woke up &
realised I have a very, very bad
cough. By afternoon, I was having
fever and headache. I think
I have never felt so
sick for a long time.
But in a way, I'm kinda relieved
tt I'm finally sick ... my
schedule have been so tight
tt I knew I need
a break ... so at least
now I have a deserved break!
Anyway, research is v tiring. I think
everyday, I'm becoming less
& less of a research
person.
It's not that I don't like research,
but somehow you realised tt
the part you like about research
only form a small component
of the day to day activities;
then u really feel like
a manual worker
At least a manual worker just
need to keep working,
but as a research staff, you
need to think almost everyday
when your experiment fails
, you need to do
the actual experiment, you need to
purchase your own stuff
& then u need to justify for the
purchases
So I'm counting down towards
graduation.
Really looking forward to it, although
I really don have the time
to apply for a job yet.
My boss at work is ok, but I think
our approach towards mentoring
students is v different. I like
to 'spoon-feed' my students,
make things easier for them &
teach them how to attain maximum
results with minimal efforts.
For me a lot of things one do is about
the FUN element as well as
personal growth, if the
FUN disappears, den the
thing is not worth doing
anymore.
