Memories of a year
2005 is a topsy-turvy year ...
a year whereby my
actions are motivated
by events
a year where the
two halves are an exact
contrast of each other
Jan - Apr are unimaginable
months, days which
are wholly different from
the rest of my undergrad
days
after having so much fun during
my undergrad life ... honours
year was an one-off
A REAL STRUGGLE!!!
January: Official start of my
honour year project; deadline
of project - end April. By the
end of January, my project
was in shambles!
I did my best but mabbe
my bez wasn't enough ...
February: CNY celebration
was gud tis year, a couple
of my frenzs were down @ my
hse for new year.
First project presentation
was always juz
a formality ...
my project seemed to
be in sixs & sevens
One prof remarked: "ur
project does not have enuff
meat"
tt was a quotation which
my prof eventually
liked.
The other prof said "good
presentation" though
he could later tell his students
tt my preliminary results
weren't favourable.
By end Feb, part of the gloom
evaporated. I moved
into hostel at the end of Feb
hoping to give myself more time
for the project
March: 2 honour year students
but different fate; room-mate,
Cliff was having the time
of his life in hostel enjoying
his last year while the best
of my undergrad life
had passed. 3 years of
merry ... even if it meant
one year of pain, it should be
worth the while
Cliff & I got along
quite well, sometime we
watched soccer together or
play games on his gameset ...
but by end March
my project deadline were nearing ...
I whispered to myself "I
WILL SURVIVE"
Apr: Exams, thesis deadline, days
n days ... I wandered whether the final
semester will be the nemesis
of my lack of devotion in my studies ....
I spent 11 days writing my
thesis, by the time I finished
I knew I had woke
up from my nightmare,
a long suffocating nightmare lasting
one year
I wanted to thank pple who
made my last-minute
rush possible, who helped
me through the
struggle, here you are (not in
any particular order) =),
guobao, cheefeng, audrey,
michie, cheehong,
raofeng, eugene
On the last day of
exam, I juz dumped my
lecture notes into the
dustbin ... it was
A SATISFYING MOMENT ...
tt nite raofeng, guobao &
me spent the nite
watching the
move & singing karaoke
... tt was a merry moment ... &
the next day I was
off to Desaru
May: graduation trip w
Sinwah, Yuansong, steven.
The trip was loads of fun,
& it was within budget.
11 days Beijing/Hongkong
within a budget of
ard of 1.7k is the
real deal. Hongkong
dim sum is still
the bez, I woke up
every morning with a
smile knowing there r loads
of gud food entering my mouth.
June: gatherings, gatherings n
more gatherings ... friends
that I haven't meet for
a long while.
exam results were released,
& I got the
honours class I wanted
July: I never expected so
many people at
my graduation ceremony. By
the end of the day, I
couldn't smile anymore. If
there is juz one day in July, this
was the day I would not
forget
August/Sep: August was boring
stuff - resume sending ...
I din get to work in
the place I want so I started
responding to advertisement in Sep
... I attended my first interview
in Sep, the shortest interview
I ever attended ... I couldn't
speak dialect so I jeoparidsed my
chance.
Oct/Nov: by end Novemeber, I had
sent up ard 15 resumes (not
a lot though) ... got a
job offer in Nov (din accept it
though) ... n after
some twists n turns
I will work in February
Dec: I LUV DECEMBER!!! The
month of December mirrored
tt of June
