Tidying up things for end of year fun
About 2/3 of 2007 is over ... It
was not too long ago
tt I was planning for my Jap
trip ... n now August is over
2007 has been an eventful year
so far ... July was
the worst ... but on hindsight
it wasn't so bad ...
July was a disaster waiting
to happen. Tt's wat I see
it
Now in Sep, the stock
market is starting to recover.
In Aug, one wondered
how bad things were
gg to be
But the market always
survive; tt sth
to always rmb
& people always over-reacts.
during good time, people paint
a heavenly picture ... too GOOD
to be true ... PRECISELY
but when things go sour ...
the pessimist comes
into plays
The extreme optimist &
pessimist are usually wrong ...
& in the stock market
sorrow will land on
those who believes them
In Aug, I got a sum of $$$ in
stocks. But I never
lose sleep over it. Still,
u don really go out n
celebrate when u lose $$$
I just say it's just BAD patch.
Until, pple ard me are sick of
it.
I like the BAD patch theory. Becuz
when u got all the shit ... u
know the worst are over
BAD things always come together.
So does good things ... in June,
things were so rosy, even
an optimist likes me
started to get
a tad fearful
So July evens things out
I haven't lost my nerve. I did
some calculation on wed nite
& I bought in a stock
on Mon
I started understanding n
reading abt stocks in Oct 2006.
tt time I was
a greenhorn.
At tt time, I knew absolutely
starting. I picked
up the Business Times
& then I started
learning how to read
a company financial report
It's like 10 mths n gosh
I have learned so much...
I guess it's the interest tt
carried me thru ... I luv
reading company annual
report ... kinda gave
a feeling of seeing
vision n dreams
becoming a reality
tt's this enterprising spirit
with me ... but I always
wanted to do research
first

By third week of Sep, I will have completed
by fourth module for
my postgrad
I only have 2 more modules left after tt
Postgrad has been quite
a bitter bill to swallow
#1: I couldn't adapt to the long hours.
During undergrad, I have so much
freedom. I skipped lectures...
n I just went thru
the four years always
studying last minute. It's
good life. Then I was struggling
after I started my postgrad...
long hours together with
my tuition just burnt all my
time away.
#2: Umpteen failures
n setbacks are hard to take
I was falling sick all too often. Four times
in a year!
The most beautiful thing of
my postgrad last
year was getting
to know
Phoenix
When she suggested we had
a bet this year on whether I will
be illness free from April to Mid-Sep ...
I was on for it
Prideful Kunyao don't like to lose.
So I revamped my day to day
routine. So far so good, haven't
been sick & it's a
good feeling...
Phoenix has been
an inspiration. Maybe she doubted it,
but she was a big
part of me.
But postgrad was a quantum
leap from undergrad... after
a year there were so
much to learn, so much
to adapt... I guess
I'm reaching a new level
of stability, & tt's a
pleasing thing
There's lotsa fun coming
at the end of the year ...
so in Sep I wish to
iron things out den
it's time to PARTY!!!

Time really flies... yst I was celebrating
my bdae with a couple of frenzs...
It wasn't too long ago
that it was January 2007
& I was rueing the fact
tt it was a difficult yr ahead
They celebrated my bdae
at Brewerks ... we spent
sth like 6 hrs there; the
aircon wasn't strong
& plus the alcohol,
my body was feeling hot
after 2 to 3 hrs
my first bdae treat came weeks
ago ... Kian Leng treated
me to Carnivorus @ VivoCity ...
The place is good for dining...
there's a huge TV showing soccer &
the nice music in the
background making dining
an enjoyable experience ... As for the food,
save for the salad and the dessert bar ...
the rest of the stuff r Carnivorous...
if I'm not wrong they serve
sth like 14 type of meats ...
the chef will come around n
slice meat onto ur plate ...
they had this card on the table
& if u do not want any more
meat on ur plate ... u can just
flip the card to the other side
it's a very pleasant surprise ...
becuz I never expect it
to be my birthday treat but
I enjoy it a lot
Jiajian & pals celebrate my
birthday with me @ Brewerks ...
we spent close to 6 hours @ Brewerks
until my seats get really
warm
the bdae was tasty ... I could
say tt it is one of the best non-chocolate
birthday cake tt I had
taste before
I made a wish & I hope it comes
true
